Last Chance to Speak Up on North Central Coast Marine Protected Areas

Live, work or play anywhere along the coast from Pigeon Point in San Mateo County up to Alder Creek in Mendocino County? If so, now's your chance to weigh in one last time before the California Fish and Game Commission decides which network of marine protected areas will go "in the water" off this stretch of coastline.

On Wednesday, August 5th in Woodland, CA, the Commission will hold its final hearing on the issue and is expected to formally adopt an array of protected areas. So that they choose the best network, Commissioners needs to hear from people like YOU who care about the health of marine ecosystems and protecting our natural heritage now and for future generations. There's a fine balance that must be struck, so let's make sure they get it right: provide effective and balanced protection for underwater habitats while seeking to minimize impacts to fishing and recreational opportunities.
